If you're looking for a place that genuinely makes you feel at home, look no further. From the moment I arrived at Male Airport, island Jetty, and to this charming guest house on Tholusdhoo Island, both the owner and staff went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of my stay was comfortable and welcoming. Their warmth and attentiveness were truly exceptional, it never felt like a hotel transaction; it felt personal.
What really impressed me was their incredible attention to details. Every small thing was thoughtfully taken care of before I even had to ask. It's rare to find that level of care in any accommodation, let alone on a remote island, of Maldives.
For water enthusiasts, snorkelling gear was readily available, making it effortless to explore the stunning marine life right off the island. A bicycle was also on hand to cruise around Tholusdhoo at your own pace — a perfect way to soak in the local island life.
The internet connection was surprisingly fast and reliable — great for those who need to stay connected even while unwinding in paradise.
Meals were a real highlight. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner were all served punctually and featured a wonderful variety of dishes — a delicious fusion of local Maldivian flavours with international touches. Every meal was fresh, flavourful, and satisfying.
I cannot recommend this guest house highly enough. It's the kind of place that stays with you long after you've left. A massive thank you to the owner and the entire team for making my Maldives experience so special. I will absolutely be back!

What is the general dress code on the island?
Casual Summer Wear is considered appropriate. However, see-through exposing clothing is not recommended. Bikini/Speedos for men and women are not allowed on the streets, township or anywhere other than the allocated bikini beach. Grab a beach towel.
Can I bring alcohol from resort or bar boat?
Firstly you cannot enter the Maldives with alcohol or any recreational drugs. Alcohol and recreational drugs are not allowed on islands / cities where locals reside in. Therefore, no, you cannot bring alcohol from any facility (resort / safari) to the island. As of November 2024, vaping/e-cigarettes are also banned.
What if I have a health emergency?
Male’ Atoll Hospital is located in Thulusdhoo providing primary care service whereas any large treatments will be repatriated immediately on sea-ambulance or private hire to the larger tertiary hospitals in Male’ City. You will require your passport and insurance information.
Is the Guest House or Island flexible to specific dietary requirements?
Empyrean stay provides options for Vegetarian, Vegan, Lactose Intolerance, Kosher & Gluten-Free guests. While some local restaurants may not be fully aware of dietary requirements, please inform the waiters prior to ordering. All foods on local islands are Halal.
